Doris and Evelyn
Originally called Chinese Torture, this piece was first written in 2004 as a very
short acting class piece written for two other actors.  The piece has been revised
many times.  My wife and I had massages in China shortly before the piece took
this form.  She subsequently went to a Chinese masseuse several times.  All
similarities end there.  Technical challenges?  Originally, the setting was a bench
on Main Street.  I wanted to write a "bench play" that would be my little homage to
Albee and Mamet.  Usually, the characters in a bench play don't know each other.
In this case, they do.

To the play.
